Why did I chose Grand Lake as her home?
Because my in-laws have a beautiful cabin there and it was inspiring. Plus, Hobbes, my German shepherd, got to visit.
Imogen and her mother, Delphine, made Grand Lake their home in the late 1800s during the gold/silver mining boom.
The Craftsman-style Lake home inspired what Imogen's house resembles. Their home is near the East Inlet.
Adams Falls
Adams Falls is near East Inlet Trail of Grand Lake. A 55 ft. cascading waterfall on an easy-to-moderate hiking trail.
Funny story:

I am not a hiker. I'm from southern California. Give me a beach.
And my brother-in-law is from Washington State. Also, not a hiker.

When we went to our in-laws' cabin, we hiked the "easy" trail to Adams Falls.
Well... we tried to hike it...
We were very out of breath and had a hard time along the path. We laugh about that to this day.
However, it WAS a beautiful area, and THAT I do remember... in between gasping for air...
