Ozil: (oh-zil) Turkish/Islam, German. The core of a city, heart of a city, essence of a city.

A pocket/bubble dimension/universe, or an in-between central hub of the mermaid magical plane. The Ozil connects the main river and the main lake of each realm, no matter its distance to one another.

Example: In the Wild West Realm, Lake Tahoe and the Colorado River are connected via an Ozil. Tails can travel across the realm with this connection and without the use of an Aquamarine Tail. However, if a Tail wants to travel from Colorado River to Lake Ontario, an Aquamarine Tail would need to use their teleportation magic to translocate them. 

 

To enter, a Freshwater Tail must pass through a veil of magic, which is hidden near the lake or river.

The Ozil can be sealed off in an emergency.

Once inside, it's like a main street, or gathering area for the realm, with buildings, shops, housing, and a portal to the connecting lake/river. Made up of natural and manmade things and glows like minerals in a cave.
